Permanent sheet piled basement cofferdam retaining wall with a silent and vibration-free rig
Fussey piling was working once again with Metnor to produce a permanent sheet piled basement cofferdam retaining wall for a new care home facility in Chester.
Whilst the ground conditions indicated favourable driving conditions for straight forward pile pressing, upon commencement on site it was found to be greatly different.
Throughout the soil we encountered cobbles not shown on the ground investigation report. To overcome this issue, we quickly mobilised a pre-auger rig to site to enable the piles to be silently and vibration-freely pressed into the ground.
