This project involved the construction of nine new dwellings and a basement car park on a disused site located on Battersea Bridge Road, London.

The project, for ultimate client Shanly Homes, was won by Coinford Construction Ltd. To assist Coinford with their bid, Fussey Piling produced tender designs and detailed pricing early on in the project. As a result of this Fussey Piling were asked to produce detailed method statements and risk assessments prior to award of contract to Shanly Homes, to assist them in getting the Party Wall awards in place.

Pile installation was completed using a silent and vibration-free piling system with a Kowan WP-150 Stillworker. To loosen the ground prior to driving the sheets, the ground was pre-augered using the RTG16T rig.

Once completed, the cofferdam was excavated and the pile clutches welded, to produce a water tight structure.

Ben Jones, Operation Manager says “This is a typical project for us. We do a lot of city centre steel intensive basements due to the silent and vibration-free pile driving technology we own.”
